The SWAY team joined forces with the Glenroi Heights Public School teaching staff to present “Play Based learning through Sounds, Words, Aboriginal Language and Yarning”.

Staff collaboratively plan learning opportunities with a focus on language development, social skills, exploring Indigenous culture, investigating, risk-taking, problem solving and self-regulation. Learning experiences are based on the SWAY initiative; an innovative program focusing on speech and language acquisition through a culturally significant yarn. This presentation will demonstrate the power of action research in schools, enabling a change process and strengthening collective efficacy to improve the achievement of student learning outcomes in Kindergarten.

Ashley Taylor from CLSA attended the presentation. Thank you Ashley and CLSA for all your support.
